On our last day of school before holiday break, we had a very busy morning full of surprise visitors! First 2 high school students played Christmas songs on their clarinets for us. We really enjoyed it, and even sang along when we knew the words! It was pretty cool to watch and listen to! About an hour later, Mrs. Houser's class came in with an elf that they had caught the night before. The elf was trapped in a small container and would run across the table when the 2nd graders called to it. Don't worry though, he was let go that night after school! What a fun morning!
After reading "The Polar Express," Kindergarten students at BCES enjoyed 2 fun filled days. On Tuesday, we wore our pajamas and traveled to every kindergarten classroom, while enjoying different stations with each teacher. From making a graph to drinking hot cocoa, students were able to experience this classic book in six different magical ways! Later that day, students in room C found Christmas bells under their chairs. We are not sure how they got there, but we have a hunch... and we all heard them ring!
On Wednesday, we were able to enjoy this magical story on the big screen! The High School auditorium could not have been more perfect to enjoy such a special show! Prior to joining our own families for thanksgiving dinner, room C had a little thanksgiving feast of their own. After making stone soup in its true fashion (each student bringing in a different vegetable to add to the community crock pot), we indulged in our masterpiece as well as in cornbread and cider. The food was not the only thing that looked good however, the students looked pretty cute in their pilgrim head wear as well! Check out our pics from this fun experience!
