The students worked hard all of April writing several different types of poems. We were able to share the poems this past Friday with our families and friends. Check out the pictures below of Room E's Poetry Cafe!

Over Spring Break, all students in Room E brought home a little friend! After learning that astronauts brought jelly beans into space, we felt like we should bring jelly beans on our adventures during spring break! We all took home a cool journal to record all of our adventures in, along with some pictures! Here is a look at what Miss Jelly Bean, and I did during our spring break in Sanibel, Florida! We had a lot of fun in Room E in March. The below pictures will help catch you up on any fun activity that you may have missed. From a visit from The Cat in the Hat, to talking with Mrs. Klooster's dentist sister in Seattle via Skype, to using shaving cream to practice spelling words, and everything in-between, March was a month to remember! We were able to start the week with another celebration! The students were totally excited about celebrating the 100th day of school. We wrote about what we would do with $100 in the morning and rotated through centers in the afternoon. We made a special 100th day snack, exercised in 100 second intervals, completed a 100 piece puzzle, made 100th day of school crowns, and played a "race to 100" dice game. Check out the fun below! I have never seen a happier group of students than the ones in Room E as they opened up their Valentine's cards from each other! This sappy teacher had tears in her eyes as she watched students oooh and ahhh at every sparkle, sticker, and tattoo. They were unbelievably thankful to their friends and anyone who walked in could tell that this was simply "THE BEST VALENTINE'S DAY EVER!" :) The pizza, strawberries, carrots, juice boxes, and homemade fudge were simply icing on the cake. What a wonderful group of students I get to enjoy this year! December was a busy month in Room E. With only three weeks to work, between Thanksgiving and Christmas break, we really packed in a lot of fun and learning! Below you will see pictures of our Christmas program, guest readers, Pajama Day, Mrs. Houser's Elf, the discovery of our jingle bells from Santa, a Christmas math project, as well as the opening of our Christmas presents! We sure had a lot of fun! Last week, students in Room E read several versions of the classic story Stone Soup. After, each student brought in one ingredient to make our very own stone soup! Each child in our class was able to help make this yummy community creation and I was so pleased that every child at least tasted the soup as well! We enjoyed our soup during our pilgrim feast which also included cornbread, popcorn, and pomegranate! Check out the photos below to see all the fun we had both preparing and eating our classroom Thanksgiving meal! The week of Halloween was one full of fun and educational activities! We were able to have a medical student come talk to us about bones on Wednesday, as well as cut, assemble, and glue our own skeletons afterwards. Later that afternoon we were able to take part in a pumpkin investigation! We weighed and measured our pumpkins as well as counted their lines and checked if they sank or floated. After our investigation was completed, we were able to carve our pumpkins in small groups wih a parent volunteer. On Thursday we celebrated Halloween by dressing up, having a parade, and completing Halloween centers in the classroom! On Thursday, Real life firemen came and visited kindergarten. We loved seeing the firemen in their gear, and now know not to be afraid of firemen during an emergency, even if they do look and sound a little bit scary with all of that equipment on! We have been working on our own fire safety tip book based on all of the information the firefighters told us about as well as information we have watched or read about with Mrs. Klooster. The class of 2025 experienced their very first Rambler Spirit Day this week! Check out some of the photos below showing students in their Rambler colors! Rambler football players read to us, answered our questions and even let us try on some of their gear. |
